About this site
Mark's son, Duane, had an idea for a website that would collect the works of his late father. In 1981, Mark was killed in a car accident, his son Duane was just four years old and his daughter Summer was born three weeks later.
From a young age, Mark was inspired by the colouring-ins of his Nanna (Elsie May Cranmer) who coloured in the pages of his children story books that she gave to him. Sunsets also inspired him as well as PaPa's (Tim Bradley) photography of Cobar landscapes. Mark never spoke about what his paintings meant when he was asked. He preferred people to come up with their own interpretation of them. After art school, Mark did not paint much. He focused more on pottery and teaching pottery. Duane and Summer hope that this site will allow them to discover and showcase Mark's entire body of work and they encourage others to share any pieces they may have. There are many pieces in circulation that they have never seen. Being able to collate a virtual art gallery of his body of work will bring them a bit closer to knowing their father and treasuring his legacy. Thank you to everyone who has contributed photos to this website. Please enjoy the gallery and if you have any information or artworks of Mark's that you would like to share on this site, please get in touch with Duane or Summer on the contact page. |
